Rotten Dawn is a short animated film that follows the journey of a bartender struggling with the effects of his job, such as sleep deprivation and stress, while also facing personal life challenges. The short highlights the deeper impact of the nightlife industry and the human side of it, often overlooked by both customers and venue owners.
Rotten Dawn was directed, animated, and edited by Nataliia Lebedeva. With the help of Miruna Costache, Alex Popov (inbetwining, animation clean up), and Nehir Ozer (background design). The compositing and sound design were done by Jamal Ata and Rian Noah. The poetry was written by Yelyzaveta Lidova. Additionally, voice-overs were covered by Amal Vlasblom, Finn Ridderbroek, and Jefrey F.
The short has recently aired on TV channel Rijnmond and is currently being submitted for festivals.
